Klein Animal Clinic was started in October of 2000. It has grown from a solo veterinary practice to a team of three doctors.

Dr. Sue Hartmann grew up on a farm in Eastern Iowa and graduated from the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. After graduating she practiced veterinary medicine around eastern Iowa, then in North Carolina. She joined the Klein Animal Clinic when she returned to Iowa in 2005. In April 2018, Dr. Hartmann became the owner and managing DVM of the clinic. She has a special interest in small animal internal medicine. Dr. Hartmann and her husband also own Hammond Motorsports. They live with their cat Bernice and their 2 dogs Clark and Eddie. In her free time, Dr. Hartmann enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and pets.
Dr. Margaret Elliott received her BS degree at ISU in Microbiology in 1997. After completing her PhD in immunology in 2002 and postdoctoral program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, she moved to Ames in 2005 to work in dairy cattle research at the National Animal Disease Center. Having always wanting to be a veterinarian, Dr. Elliott chose to leave research to pursue a veterinary degree. She completed her DVM in 2014 at Iowa State University in Ames, IA. Dr. Elliott joined Klein Animal Clinic in September 2020. Dr. Elliott is a member of the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association and American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Elliott’s interest include canine performance (obedience/agility) and dog training, training for behavioral issues and teaching training to pet owners.
Klein Animal Clinic would like to introduce our newest team member, Dr. Jillian Sullivan, DVM. Dr. Sullivan graduated from Iowa State University with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Dr. Sullivan and her husband, Travis live in Blue Grass, IA along with their 2-year-old son, 3 dogs, a cat and chickens! Dr. Sullivan has been doing some relief work at Klein Animal Clinic for the past year and half and has decided to join us full time!
Rusty joined Klein Animal Clinic in November of 2018 after spending 5 years in the dental industry. Rusty is a Quad City native, growing up just south of the Quad Cities in Aledo IL and currently resides in East Moline. Rusty has two English Bulldogs, Max and Jaxen.
Amanda has been a part of the Klein Animal Clinic since 2017. Amanda plays a special role in our clinic as she is in charge of the clinics ordering and inventory. Amanda has one dog Karla, two cats, Arthur and Mia, 2 rabbits, Felix and Daisy and one horse, Chief. In Amanda’s free time she enjoys traveling with her husband Alex, horseback riding and being with her pets.
Brittany has been with Klein Animal Clinic for the past several years as an intern. She graduated from Augustana College in 2019 and has taken a full time position with the clinic. Brittany has a lively Siamese cat that likes to dig holes.
Eva joined Klein Animal Clinic in May 2021 as a technician. Eva grew up outside of Aledo IL and has two sisters and one brother. In high school she was in FFA for all four years and after high school, she completed the vet assistant course through Black Hawk Community College. She also attended Terri’s Pet Grooming School and graduated in 2016. Eva was a groomer for four years in Sherrard IL. Eva has always had a passion for animals and has had several different pets in her life includes horses, dogs, cats, and guinea pigs.
Ella joined Klein Animal Clinic in August 2020. Ella grew up outside Clinton IA and graduated high school in May of 2020. Ella is currently taking online college courses through Penn Foster to become a Certified Vet Tech. Ella has been around pets her whole life and has helped with various chores around her families pig farm, and that is where she knew she wanted to work with animals. Ella has two pets of her own, Apollo a Border Collie and Creed a Siamese Mix kitten. Ella is constantly putting pets needs above her own and treats them as if they are her own.
Traci joined Klein Animal Clinic in May 2021. After previously being a zookeeper of lions, tigers, bears (oh my), and cheetahs in Oregon, she decided she missed the Midwest and moved back home. Traci has two cats, Toby and Maya and her boyfriend has a ferret named Slinky. In her free time, she loves visiting zoos,0 aquariums, photography, and cooking.
Brittni joined Klein Animal Clinic in January 2021. Growing up, Brittini has always had a soft spot for all animals. She knew that working with them was always something she wanted to do – “that is my purpose in life to try and save animals to the best of my ability. I love all of our unique patients and being able to help in some way, shape or form – even if it’s just some belly rubs.” Brittni is a self-proclaimed “nerd” and loves video games, comic books and going to cosplay conventions! She has three Pomeranians named Boots, Teemo and Ziggs. She also has two sugar gliders name Rafiki and Rikku that she adopted. They all mean the world to her!
Lynne joined Klein Animal Clinic in December 2020. Lynne grew up in England and has traveled the world. She currently lives in Davenport, IA with her two daughters Makayla and Korina. Lynne also has two dogs, MissTea and Willow and three horses, Max, Cabby and Emmit. In Lynnes free time, she enjoys competing in horse shows and is also a personal trainer.
Sierra joined Klein Animal Clinic in January 2021. Sierra graduated from Black Hawk College with a veterinary assistant certification. She has wanted to work in the veterinary field since she was a little girl. Currently she owns seven different species of animals and jokingly calls it a small zoo. In her free time, she enjoys nature documentaries and makes a “mean French toast”.
Cindy is one of our friendly receptionist and joined Klein Animal Clinic in 2017. She has one son Justin, daughter in-law Angela and two grandson’s Jayden and Jaxson. She enjoys spending time with family and her cat, Pepper. She also enjoys spending time outside in the summer and working with her flowers.
Claire joined Klein Animal Clinic in February 2020. She has been married for 30 years to her husband John and they have one daughter that is going to school to be a nurse practitioner. Claire has owned many pets in her life including three horses, two cats and 4 birds. She currently has a 17 year old Umbrella Cockatoo named Tinkerbell and a 14 year old Yorkie Poo, Mazie.
Mac is Klein Animal Clinic's full-time resident cat. He came to us in April of 2018
