Your Paperless Provider
If you have stopped by the clinic lately, you may have noticed a few small changes in our process. We set out at the beginning of the year to officially become a paperless clinic, and we are getting close to our goal!
While the paperless change was initially inspired by a new regulation from the Iowa Board of Veterinary Medicine, the digital switch has come with many updates to the efficiency of processes at the clinic.
“I don’t miss much,” says Dr. Meyer about the switch.
Although change can be hard, very quickly, our team realized all the training time on the new process was worth it! Very smoothly, notes can be shared about treatment internally among staff members as well as to specialty clinics such as Kimberly Crest and Iowa State University of Veterinarian Medicine for surgeries and more intensive care. The new technology allows our team to send records electronically, make adjustments to files quickly, and add notes directly to pet patient profiles, so care is consistent.
Our goal has been to make the transition very smooth for members of our clinic, and with the new software comes new capabilities. We can now send appointment reminders, receipts, and pet health information electronically. We are continuing to scan paper records to update current pet profiles and are on track to be completely paperless by the end of the year!
